Looks like the celiac nerve 'burn' may have to be put off on Monday. We had to take John to the emergency room last night around 7pm after his nap. He had a low fever, nausea, and intense pain. His doctor was afraid he was having complications from the block yesterday. He wanted bloodwork and xrays. The ER doctor suspected something else because his white blood count was "thru the roof at 43,000" and ordered a ultra sound of the gallbladder. They admitted him into the hospital because they found the main bile duct from the gallbladder is obstructed and draining into the liver instead of into the intestines. The gallbladder is also very infected as well as the area around his stomache. No wonder he has been so sick! He saw his gastro doctor last week and asked him to check out his gallbladder but the doctor said it had to do with the cancer and that wasn't the way to go. Well John knows his body better than anyone and it looks like he was right. They are going to have a gastro doctor (different guy) go in with a scope and remove the blockage(probably gallstones) and a stint/drain to allow the bile duct to drain out the rest of the garbage. They'll watch his numbers/vitals and remove the gallbladder itself tomorrow. John says to continue to pray because God must be listening coz the doctors finally are!! Love Nila

John and Nila,

Your story could be a book for us and medical personnel. I hope after the gall bladder and stones are removed that you feel relief.

Love,

Donna

I know how bad a gall bladder and bile duct problem can be without all the additional problems John has to add to that. I know I felt very blessed when Dr. Chris Davis and Dr. O'Neal found the extra bile duct draining in me after getting my gall bladder out(and off my liver which it had grown around).

I pray that stopping that bad bile draining into John can get him back to some comfort and back to being an example to us all that God is always hearing our prayers.

Continued Love and Prayers,

Marcia

Dear John,
Wow!! I have never written a 'Dear John' letter or post before.... I know, you've probably heard that 1 million times! :-) Jerry & I do keep you in our prayers and right now we are so very grateful the doctors have found the blockage and are taking steps to relieve the stress it is causing your body thus we pray also relieving your pain. You know we love you and your wonderful and sweet family. I can imagine they are a great comfort to you.
Love,
beth & Jerry Toland

I am sorry it took a trip to the ER to get you the proper treatment.

We are told the Lord has His timing and I know He has you in the palm of His hand.

I pray the silver lining gets broader and broader ~ like the smiles you all always have on your sweet faces.

Lord love you all ~
Joanna
