Deaconess Dr. Grieme (Intervention Radiologist) put a stint in the main bile duct to open the obstruction that has caused all the infection in his belly yesterday afternoon. A tumor had surrounded the bile duct and had squeezed it almost shut. The doctor was very happy that he was able to go in without any issues. And John didn't even bleed which is a really good thing. That meant he didn't have to have an external drain. He is feeling alot better today after a really hard night. His color is much better (not so yellow) and he is able to move around a little more. Dr. Hemrich (Gastro doc)did not want to remove the gallbladder today. He wants to be very careful that the infection is way under control before he does operate. There may be enough challenge in the removal because of the tumors in the area without the infection possibly going into the bloodstream. He will be on major antibiotics and with the duct draining properly they may do the operation in 3-4 days. The celiac plexus nerve block burn will have to be put off until all of this is over also. Since this procedure is done thru the back and very close to the spine infection in the body could paralize him. He is on the road now to feeling alot better and that is the main thing right now. All of your prayers and encouraging words here and on the phone has meant alot to him.

Glory be to God ~
Somehow that all sounds like good (if not great) news.
Leaving all the details and doctors in God's hands, it sounds like you both can be at peace for the time being.
My prayers and my heart are with you and the family,
Love & Hugs ~

John and Nila,
You are doing a first class job of handling this, John. Nila, you are an amazing person, too.
It's good you both understand the medical information given to you, and that you keep asking questions.
We both hope you will get plenty of support and assistance.
Love and best wishes,
Donna and Herb
