BUSY month of OCTOBER 2008

October has been a busy joyful month. We took the grandsons to the Arcadia Pumpkin Patch on Oct. 11th. Had the beautiful 40 Day Memorial for John on Oct 12th. Celebrated the soon-to-arrive granddaughter with a baby shower on Oct. 26th. And had a fun time with the family on Halloween night.

The pumpkin patch was a blast and the boys got to run around and experience new and cool stuff. They also wore themselves out ( not to mention Nana and poor Aunt Jenny). To see our fun time go to this link:

Jenny had a great time at the baby shower hosted by her two good school friends from growing up, Laura and Mary Elizabeth. Also, by her Aunt Libby, sister Heather, and sister Sarah. It was held at Laura's house and a fun time with games was had by all. Aunt Yevonne won the coveted Diaper Pin Prize and Cousin Lucy the Candy Diaper prize. Baby Georgia Ruth received some beautiful gifts and Daddy Aaron Thomas won't even have to put together the stroller! On Halloween night I wasn't going to decorate our large porch as John and I have done in the past but Sarah wanted to continue the tradition of fun that her Daddy loved. He had so much fun, dressing up and handing out candy to the little children. Sarah and her friend Alicia decorated and then Sarah dressed as a 'good' witch to give out goodies. My sister and her family and my brother along with his fiance and her children rounded out the night with laughter and lots of candy counting. Sarah even got to go to a Halloween party complete with costume of a girl baseball player in pink. John was missed greatly but I'm sure he was smiling knowing we kept up the fun. I already posted a memorial post earlier here on my blog for John's 40Day. My children took out a small pumpkin to place on John's grave instead of flowers. He did so love the pumpkin craving time of year.

We pray you all had a great month of October enjoying the changing of the leaves and of the seasons. Much Love, Nila and Family
