John Robert Dutcher

John Robert Dutcher passed to his eternal rest with Christ Friday 8-8-08 at 10am central daylight time.

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word; for mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people, a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Isreal.

Dear Dutcher Family,

I am sorry to hear about this, yet I believe 100% he is with Christ who strengthens all. I pray for you daily and may Christ our True God give you strength, faith, and love during this time of healing. John fought the good fight, has been a great role model for man people and has touched the lives of many as well. May his memory be eternal.

God bless+

On Lazarus Saturday, 1991, the John Dutcher Family and the Herb Ham Family were chrismated into the Holy Orthodox Church. At the time, it was the largest group ever chrismated at St. Elijah.

For most of the last 17 years, John Dutcher served at the altar. Herb Ham joined John at the altar in 2000, and for the last 9 years they served together.

For the last six month, every time Herb arrived on Sunday morning he always looked to see if John's truck was in the parking lot. He won't have to look for John's truck any more; John is already inside, part of the cloud of witnesses, waiting for Herb and the rest of us to arrive for worship.

May his memory be eternal.

You are in a better place now and thankfully free from the suffering and pain you knew here. When I get there we will have to have a good old fashion jam session.

The church and I here will be praying for your family as they morn.

Love,

Brian

You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Know that he is now at rest laying in God's arms. When I think of him now, I think of him on the 4th of July last month, happy as can be with his whole family...JJ walked up to him and gave him a hug and told him how happy he was that John was there with them. It was a precious moment and I will alwys remember the two of them smiling and sharing that moment together!
God Bless you and your family!

Nila, Heather, Jenny, and Sarah,

I wish I could find the words to comfort you--there are none. My heart is hurting with yours.

Nila, you have lost a wonderful husband. Heather, Jenny, and Sarah, you have lost a wonderful dad. St. Elijah have lost a Sub Deacon, a friend, a brother, and a servant of God who is loved very much, beautiful inside and out, and who will be greatly missed.

I loved watching John during the Great Entrance. His head was held high and proud. I am honored I knew him.

It is our faith that teaches us one day we will be in the Kingdom of Heaven, and John will be there to greet us.

My prayers are with your family and with John.
