April 5, 2008-Saturday

John has received his 6th chemo as of yesterday. He has gained 3 more precious pounds back. He's doing quite well with the chemos and it's a little scary that he hasn't had all the side effects from the chemo as all the horror stories tell. Or maybe it's just that the little bit of nausea for now is just 'preparing' him. He hasn't lost 'all' his hair yet (like that would be different! haha). We think it's a blessing that the worst is the intense fatique and sometimes the breakthrough pain is pretty hard on him. They have increased his pain medications which helps most of the time. He's able to work from home when he can't make it to the office or has to come home after going to work. And he is always accessible to his co-workers and duties. Some days he can go through life as if nothing is wrong but on others the fatique or pain hits without warning. We aren't playing ostrich, just making the most of each day or hour that is good. If we dwell on the diagnosis we would just crawl into a fetal position and suck our thumbs. That doesn't take advantage of the beautiful life that God has granted us. God gave us so much to be thankful for and we intend to honor him by embracing life. One of those thanksgivings are all our friends and family who surround us with so much love. Thank you and keep those prayer chains burning up the invisible lines to heaven. It's truly working!
